Silly is a term that could be interpreted in many ways. Silly typically refers to a lack or seriousness or maybe even sarcastic insanity. Silly costumes however can be a whole different ballgame. Many of the adult costumes available from costume outlets or bargain retailers in your neighborhood can be classified as silly. Sometimes even the conservative styles appear more silly than anything. Homemade costumes are typically more silly than their storebought, mass-produced counterparts due to creativity that doesn't require much social acceptance.
