Screwy is a term that could be interpreted in many ways. Screwy typically refers to a lack or seriousness or maybe even a wacky temporary insanity. Screwy costumes however can be a whole different ballgame. Many of the adult costumes available from costume outlets or bargain chain stores can qualify as screwy. Sometimes even the conservative styles appear more screwy than they were designed to be. Homemade costumes are typically more screwy than their storebought, mass-produced counterparts due to creativity that doesn't require much social correctness.
